Many HLW clients enter their 6-month program in fear that they will never be able to have dessert again, but their health concerns are so overwhelming they are ready to do almost anything to get better. Even give up dessert!

Well at HLW that isn’t necessary! Not only do we refrain from restricting dessert we request that you have it…on a regular basis. What many people don’t understand is that sweet flavor is just as important as salt, bitter, pungent and sour to a healthy diet. If you don’t get enough sweet flavors you will generally crave bitter tastes (coffee, cocoa, beer and cigarettes) which when overindulged in may create health problems of their own.

People think eating sweet flavor foods will make them fat. This isn’t true either although ingesting refined white sugar cane will. There’s a big difference between sweet flavor and sugar in terms of health. Keep in mind that your stomach will be just as satisfied with brown rice or millet (natural sweet flavor foods) as it is with pie. It’s your tongue that can rear it’s ugly head making strong demands when it doesn’t get the taste that it wants.

That’s where our HLW Healthy Desserts cooking class comes in. I have put together 5 dessert recipes that will satisfy both your tongues request for decadent flavor along with your bodies needs for health and energy.
